Overview

HIG Doctor audits your project's source code against Apple's Human Interface Guidelines and related accessibility and interface quality rules. It comes as a CLI, an MCP server and an embeddable core package that share one engine. Findings come with severity, location, a rule ID, fix guidance and the reference behind each concern.

Features

  • Detects your frameworks and scans SwiftUI, UIKit, AppKit, watchOS and visionOS code against HIG rules
  • Also checks React, Next.js, CSS, Vue and other web code with HIG-aligned checks
  • Baselines, inline suppressions, SARIF output and --fail-on let you gate only new issues
  • MCP tools search a frozen HIG reference corpus and explain individual findings
  • Includes 14 skills and 156 reference topics from a frozen 2025-02-02 snapshot of the HIG, and says Apple's live guidelines remain the authority

Requirements

  • Node.js (runs through npx)

Install

  1. Run an audit in your project folder

    npx hig-doctor .

Example
