Overview

xcode-mods by Artem Novichkov is a Claude Code plugin that adds Xcode-style panes to Claude Code. You can build, run tests, run the app with a live console and render SwiftUI previews from inside Claude Code, using Xcode's own headless MCP server. A toolbar band shows the scheme and destination like Xcode does.

Features

  • /build, /tests, /run and /stop commands
  • Live build progress with errors and warnings
  • Tests grouped by target and suite with failures first
  • Streams the app's stdout and OSLog while it runs
  • /preview renders a #Preview into a Canvas pane and keeps the last 10 snapshots
  • Notifications when an action finishes

Requirements

  • Xcode 27 or later with the MCP server in headless mode
  • Claude Code 2.1.286 or later
  • A terminal with the kitty graphics protocol (such as Ghostty) or the Claude desktop app to see previews

Install

  1. Turn on Xcode's headless MCP server and add it to Claude Code as xcode

    sudo xcrun mcp-server enable
claude mcp add --scope user xcode -- xcrun mcpbridge
  2. Allow mcp__xcode in ~/.claude/settings.json, then install the plugin

    /plugin marketplace add artemnovichkov/xcode-mods
    /plugin install xcode-mods@xcode-mods

Example

Run /preview ContentView.swift to see your SwiftUI preview inside Claude Code while the agent edits the view.
