Overview

Xcode MCP Bridge Wrapper makes the MCP tools built into Xcode usable from external MCP clients such as Cursor, Codex, Zed and Claude Code. It does not add tools of its own: it passes through whatever catalogue your installed Xcode provides. On Xcode 27.0 that was 54 tools in the author's testing.

Features

  • Connects Xcode's own MCP tools to clients that use the initialize lifecycle
  • Xcode 27 tools include workspaces and targets, simulator interaction, run and debugger control, build configuration, localisation and crash insights
  • Ready-made config for Cursor, Codex, Zed and Claude Code
  • Runs through uvx, which manages its own Python environment

Requirements

  • macOS with Xcode 26.3 or later (27.0 supported)
  • uv
  • Python 3.9 to 3.12
  • In Xcode, Settings > Intelligence > Model Context Protocol > Allow external agents to use Xcode tools turned on

Install

  1. Claude Code

claude mcp add --transport stdio xcode -- uvx --from 'mcpbridge-wrapper==0.5.0' mcpbridge-wrapper --broker
  2. Open your project in Xcode, start the client and approve the Xcode access prompt, then reconnect the server

Works with

Claude CodeCursor
