Overview

An agent skill for building, testing and automating iOS apps, made up of 30 scripts. It wraps xcodebuild with compact output and navigates the simulator using the accessibility tree instead of pixel coordinates. It keeps token use down by summarising builds and optimising screenshots.

Features

  • build_and_test.py wraps xcodebuild with token-efficient output
  • Finds and taps elements by meaning, for example the text "Login", through accessibility
  • 30 scripts for builds, device state, navigation, testing, permissions and device lifecycle
  • Every script supports --help and --json
  • Limits such as timeouts and output caps are tunable through IOS_SIM_* environment variables
  • Notes for Xcode 27, which replaces Simulator.app with DeviceHub.app

Requirements

  • macOS 15 (Sequoia) or later
  • Full Xcode 26 or later
  • Python 3.12 or later
  • idb 1.5.1 or later (1.6.3 or later recommended)
  • Pillow for visual diffs

Install

  1. Claude Code

    /plugin marketplace add conorluddy/ios-simulator-skill
    /plugin install ios-simulator-skill@conorluddy
  2. Codex

    codex plugin marketplace add conorluddy/ios-simulator-skill
    codex plugin add ios-simulator-skill@conorluddy
  3. Install idb

    brew install facebook/fb/idb

Example

Ask your agent to build the app, launch it and tap the Login button; it uses navigator.py --find-text "Login" --tap rather than fixed coordinates.
