Overview

An agent skill that helps AI coding agents write correct App Intents code in Swift, so apps can expose actions and data to Siri, Shortcuts, Spotlight, widgets, Control Center and Apple Intelligence. The author notes that App Intents has changed a lot between iOS releases and that models often produce outdated or broken code. It's been updated for the iOS 27 APIs announced at WWDC 2026.

Features

  • Covers the full set of intent types, from AppIntent and OpenIntent to widget and control configuration intents
  • Explains the execution lifecycle, including the 30-second budget, LongRunningIntent and CancellableIntent
  • Includes the iOS 27 additions: on-screen awareness, EntityCollection, SyncableEntity and the AppIntentsTesting framework
  • Calls out common agent mistakes, such as making a SwiftData @Model conform to AppEntity or using @Query inside an intent

Requirements

  • Node.js for the npx install route (the README suggests brew install node if needed)

Install

  1. Install with the skills CLI and choose your agents

npx skills add https://github.com/n0an/App-Intents-Agent-Skill --skill app-intents
  2. Claude Code plugin

    /plugin install n0an/App-Intents-Agent-Skill
  3. Gemini CLI extension

    gemini extensions install https://github.com/n0an/App-Intents-Agent-Skill.git --consent

Example

Ask your agent to add a Shortcuts action that exposes your app's main data type as an entity, and the skill steers it towards current, Swift 6-compatible App Intents code.
